Safe Reopening at LSDM

While our protocols will continue to evolve with public health recommendations, here are the most current ways we have been keeping our students and staff as safe as possible:
  • All LSDM staff members are vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Decreased class sizes
  • Staggered start and end times
  • Air purifiers in each studio
  • Physical distancing enforced
  • Mandatory self-screening upon arrival (see links below)
  • Mandatory masks for all staff members & students ages 3+ (students must bring their own masks)
  • 4 bathrooms, (one assigned to each studio) to reduce cross-contamination
  • Touchless hand sanitizer dispensers
  • Daily commercial cleaning of all spaces
  • Limited access to common areas until further notice

Please read below for our newest policies and procedures effective immediately:

In order to free up staff to check vaccine receipts/passports, please direct all administrative questions/concerns to our administrator Daphne at, or by calling (416) 807-1997 between 10am and 2pm, Monday to Friday.

Once dancewear orders arrive, they will be given directly to your child to bring home to try on. Anything needed to be exchanged/returned for a different size may be done so by making an appointment with us in advance so that we can have the additional staff required on hand.

In order to expedite the admitting process, we will be distributing cards to our clients once their vaccine status has been verified. These cards should be carried with you every time you visit our school and then shown at our entrance at all future visits in order to speed up the process. In the event that you forget to bring your card, our staff will need to recheck your vaccine receipt/passport and I.D.

  • All adults accompanying students inside our facility must show I.D. as well as proof of being fully vaccinated.
  • Students under age 12 are not yet eligible to be vaccinated, so they don’t need to show any documentation at this time.
  • Students 12-18 years of age are exempt from having to show proof of vaccination in order to attend dance and music classes.
  • Medical Exemptions

As per Provincial guidelines, we ARE accepting medical exemptions provided we are shown the following:

  • A written document, completed and supplied by a physician (designated as “MD”) or by a registered nurse in the extended class (designated as “Registered Nurse (Extended Class),” “RN(EC),” “Nurse Practitioner,” or “NP”), stating that the individual is exempt for a medical reason from being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and the effective time-period for the medical reason.
  • Identification

We are returning to dismissing students at the back door following their classes. This will eliminate the need for parents/guardians to line up to re-enter our facility at the end of the classes and will reduce crowding in the halls. Please be sure to arrive on time to collect your child. Any child who is not picked up exactly when their class ends will be escorted to wait in reception until someone arrives for them.

Only parents of students ages SIX AND UNDER will be permitted inside the studio to get their dancers settled into class. Once classes have started, only parents of Creative Movement, Mighty Movers, and Tiny Tappers students are allowed/required to stay on-site. All other parents must vacate the building unless it is your child’s first/trial class.

*AFTER SCHOOL CLUB AND MUSIC PARENTS WHO ARE FULLY VACCINATED (1 adult per child please) will still be permitted inside our facility to either observe private music lessons or to pick up their children.
